The Schengen Agreement makes things both easier and harder. The good part is that a tourist visa for one the many member states is valid for all of them. Except Ireland and the UK all EU countries are to implement the Schengen Agreement. Norway, Iceland and Switzerland are not members of the EU but have implemented the Schengen rules. As of July 2009 the following countries are participating:
Austria, Belgium, Czech, Denmark, Estonia, Finland, France, Germany, Greece, Hungary, Iceland, Italy, Latvia, Lithuania, Luxembourg, Malta, Netherlands, Norway, Poland, Portugal, Slovakia, Slovenia, Spain, Sweden, Switzerland
